Punchline

Starring Sally Field, John Goodman, and Tom Hanks. It's like Norma Rae meets Last Comic Standing set in the visceral early 80's NYC. Directed & written by the same fellow who wrote Willy Wonka, the Omen, Lucas, and Bird on a Wire. How sick is that?

Cute Couples

Barak Obama & Jim McGreevy and

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler.

Because they rule the school.

Veronica Mars

Tuesdays, 9pm UPN

A great new show in a very Twin Peaks-ish (not art-wank but everyone in the town has a sordid tale waiting to be unearthed) + Buffy (snappy dialogue + girl hero) sort of way. Enjoy it before the plebeian masses demand it be cancelled to make room for a Summerland spin-off.

Greendale soundtrack

Neil Young's directorial debut, shot on super 8 and dialogue performed entirely by Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Sort of like a folk rock opera.

Cintra Wilson Colors Insulting to Nature

All-around brazen lass, Cintra Wilson's first novel. Also check out her obscenely good A Massive Swelling: Celebrity Reexamined as a Grotesque, Cripping Disease and Other Pop Culture Revelations (it's a bit more cheerful than it sounds).

Shaun of the Dead

A touchingly honest and hilarious romantic comedy set during an apocalyptic zombie siege.
